Recognised
The Centre is recognised by the RYA and licensed by the AALA.
Who or What is the RYA?
The Royal Yachting Association is the national governing body for dinghy sailing, windsurfing, yacht cruising and racing, powerboating, motor cruising, racing and personal water craft.
They aim to promote these sports in as safe a way as possible though their recognized Training Centres. As such we are inspected by them annually. During the inspection the practical sessions will be observed, staff will be spoken to, equipment is checked and policies will be looked at to ensure that we are operating to the required standards.
BSTC is also an RYA Onboard Centre.
This is an RYA initiative to encourage youths into the sailing and continue their interest within the sport – hopefully becoming regular participants for many years to come.
All RYA courses run at BSTC follow the RYA adult and youth schemes. See our provisional course programmes for further information.
Adventure Activities Licensing Authority
BSTC is also licensed by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority for Sailing and improvised rafting.
