How do we join?

Membership of The Berkshire Sail Training Centre is normally open to school, youth and community groups. Other organizations are welcome to discuss their needs. Membership is quick and easy to organise and will be arranged through contact with either the Principal or the Community Sports Coach.

Once members, the group leader arranges sailing times, staffing, equipment and supervision with the Community Sports Coach, and member groups are then free to use the Centre's facilities as often as they like, subject to the limitations detailed in the Conditions of Membership. Each group should have at least one qualified RYA instructor, and there must be a competent helm in each boat. The Centre is pleased to arrange instructional staff for groups that do not have appropriate personnel.

There is a wide range of dinghies available for use, and buoyancy aids or life jackets are available for all (and must be worn at all times when on the jetty or pontoon, launching boats or in boats). Many groups keep their own boats at the Centre. A Boat Park fee, currently £88 is passed direct to Burghfield Sailing Club. Invoices for the use of Centre craft are normally issued once a term, and prompt settlement is requested in order to keep costs to a minimum.

Instructional staff are available for all levels of achievement, from beginners through to instructor training, specialist racing coaching, etc. There is much expertise available at the Centre, and we are pleased to advise on all matters of competition sailing.

COME AND HAVE FUN!
